Course description

The excellent golf course of the Vidago Palace was redesigned by the firm Cameron and Powell from a Mackenzie Ross original, built in 1936. Currently the course was completely rebuilt according to USGA specifications for tees and greens, has been transformed into a Par 72 course, enhancing the organization of International Championships, keeping the identity of the original design and faithfully reflecting the beauty, the unique qualities for this sport, the spirit and distinctive sign of the place.

  

It`s characteristics include greens and tees at elevated level, strategic bunker positioning and greens that require a perfect view to assessing their unevenness .

As a result the Vidago Palace golf  Course will delight and challenge the most experienced player.

On the golf course there are great contrasts that share the special respect for the natural surroundings. A hallmark of this golf course is retaining walls of all tees, built with local stone as well the centennial trees that were preserved almost in its integrety. The first four holes played within the Centennial Park anticipate the following 11 holes built from scratch in the Oura valley. The last 3 holes are played at the top of the Centennial Park with the magnificent and breathtaking view of hills and villages. All the holes are a challenge and each of the last 9 is completely different from the former, so that the golfer can test and determine the full range of shots.

The recently increased course includes a golf academy, a 340m driving range, a chipping area and two putting greens. Electrical buggies, pull trolleys, electrical trolleys and golf clubs are available for rent at the club house.

The existence of a dress code requires that shirts have collars and sleeves. It is also forbidden the use o jeans and tracksuits on the course. It is still mandatory the use of soft spikes.
